The authors investigate the long-term effects of earthquakes on individual- and aggregate-level economic outcomes in Indonesia, with DID identification strategy. The economic outcome variables include income, wage, per capita consumption expenditure, assets and social assistance. The basic pattern is just like the picture below. The positive effect in long run might be due to external aid as well as reconstruction in infrastructures.
